  1. I have to admit I’m really surprised they’d even bother at this point. I’m assuming they don’t have many cell towers nearby, but maybe they have cable tv and could have went to voip, but few people I speak to actually realize it’s a real alternative.

  2. The second hyperlink, to the New Orleans Times-Picayune version of the AP report, goes into some detail about the shortcomings of cellular service in Mink. Don’t know about the cable option.

  3. The call back that Mrs. Bolton was talking about was to relatives that had phones. Some folks had the old style bag phones that used the old analog signal. The modern cell phone works in very few places because the towers are quite a distance away.
