  1. The did a special with , I think it was John Daly vs. Niagara Falls. He was attempting to hit a ball over it but it’s so misty no one could see if he was even close to the target (or too far).

He seemed like a slightly odd guy. Didn’t seem to care too much. It’s like someone said, “hey! can we pay you to try and hit a all over niagara falls?” and he said “sure”.

  2. Here it is
I did watch it (not a golf guy but I just got the HD box hooked up to the projector so the scenery was intriguing). The article says he hit the wall on the second shot but during the episode they really weren’t sure.

  3. Yeah, I remember that Niagra stunt. Part of the reason why Daly needs a career resurgence now; that, and the fact that he’s unlikey to ever win a major, given his erraticism these days.

  4. I may be wrong but as far as I can tell he has been having one of his better years on tour.

  5. That’s a relative measure, career-wise. For 2005, he’s had two Top 10 finishes, including a tie for 1st place. And he’s No. 28 in the World Rankings. Not bad, but not great, either. He’s basically a middle-of-the-pack player right now. So a reality show would be just the ticket to make him stand out from the crowd.

When “The Daly Planet” was announced, I predicted it would be a monster hit.
Well, the review is in, and it looks like neither John Daly nor The Golf Channel know how to work the reality TV angle:
