Had I known that Channel 11 commenced airing episodes of “The Honeymooners” at midnight, in accord with the station’s annual holiday marathon broadcast on New Year’s Day, I would have switched on the TV and plopped down for a while last night. Kick off the 2008 with some sleep deprivation!

As is, I’m happy enough to have stumbled upon it when I woke up this morning. I still have fond memories of when Channel 11 (WPIX) would run these ancient reruns at 11:30 on weeknights, right on through the late 1980s. Probably the reason I picked up my night-owl tendencies, or at least found a harmless default outlet for them.

I won’t be watching Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton for the rest of the day, since the NHL Winter Classic is coming up in an hour. But after that game is done, I can rejoin the black-and-white Bensonhurst bus driver and crew for the late afternoon and into evening. How sweet it is, etc…
