a goner
Oh yeah, this is exactly what I envisioned when I signed up as a Google AdSense publisher: A top-level primary-placement ad link for “Gonorrhea Statistics”.

For the record, my AdSense revenue total for today isn’t markedly higher than usual. I guess it’s something of a relief that visitors to my blog aren’t itching (pun intended!) for information on STDs…

I wish I could say that I came across this Emily Dickinson quote via my leisure-time reading:

The truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind

But that would imply I actually have some leisure time these days…

Fact is, I read it on the subway. I had to take the 1 Line last week to get part of the way home, and Barnes & Noble provided the poem, “Tell All The Truth But Tell It Slant”, on a sponsored patch of train interior.

So now I’m getting my poetry from subway ads. I can’t tell if that means I’m being dazzled or blinded.

When Paul McCartney got caught on camera smooching Nassau County lawyer Nancy Shevell in the Hamptons, I would have expected the New York Post would have delivered the most entertaining of the City’s resultant front-page headlines.

But improbably, the rival New York Daily News scored the musically pun-worthy bull’s-eye:

TRYST AND SHOUT

To which I can only add, shake it up, baby.
