CROSSED LIBERTY

No, the statue on Liberty Island has not been refurbished to reflect some Jesus-freakiness agenda. At least, not yet.

But I’m sure Apostle Alton R. Williams of the World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church in Memphis would gladly pay ten times the $260,000 it cost for this “Statue of Liberation Through Christ” to make the real-deal Statue of Liberty just as religiousized. Right down to the Ten Commandments under her arm and the word “Jehovah” inscribed on her crown.

I think that’s France on the phone, asking for the original version to be returned…

    Hizzoner Bloomberg is coming off as a bit of a kook after suggesting that the solution to NYC’s energy needs involves planting wind turbines on buildings and structures around the city.
    No, Lady Liberty would not trade in her torch for a windmill…
