Media Bistro is holding another of their social networking get-togethers tonight. This time, it’ll be at Pioneer Bar, an Irish pub on Bowery between Spring and Prince Streets (not too far from Mannahatta, the site of their last bar meet-and-greet).

I’ll be going, despite being currently employed. Which will make me feel even more like a freelancing fraud, I suppose. But it’s always good to make and renew contacts, just in case.

Besides, I acted upon what I mused about after the Mannahatta thing:

I’m considering going to the next such event with “blogger” instead of “writer/editor” on my nametag. It would stand out more, I think, and elicit more interesting reactions.

Yup, I registered for this one with the title of Blogger. Let’s see how often I’ll have to explain just what that is; I’d assume most people would be hip by now, especially in New York, but I won’t be shocked if at least a couple of people are scratching their heads.

Anyway, if you’re in that neighborhood tonight from about 6-9PM, drop on in. Since I expect to be the lone declared blogger there, I should be easy to spot.
