It looks like PopulationStatistic.com has been slooooooooow-loading most of this day. Don’t think I haven’t noticed.
I’ve notified the hosting dudes, and am hoping it’s either temporary or else easy to fix. I’m crossing my fingers. The last thing I want right now is a headache with this blog’s functionality; I’m busy enough.

It’s happening all over the internet. There’s a router problem in one of the major backbones, I’m assuming. I’ve been getting frozen up around this point on a lot of sites:

Hmm, haven’t seen evidence of that. I’m able to call up other sites no problem. And there’s nothing in the news or blogosphere suggesting it’s widespread. It’s just mine that’s slow as molasses.
Maybe it’s something around Tampa Bay. But my traffic’s taking a hit too, and the server’s not located here. I dunno.
Still no word from 1and1. I’m going to have to call them tonight if this persists.
