It ain’t new, but for the past couple of days, I’ve been wearing out my iPod listening to Kylie Minogue’s “Love at First Sight” (that’s the 2001 tune, not to be confused with her 1988 song of the same title).
Actually, I’m engrossed in a Scumfrog remix of the song. The only lyrics in this version are:
And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight
And “the music you were playing really blew my mind” part is dominant, being looped about 5 million times (or thereabouts). Something about that incessant repetition, set to a kickin’ bass-and-drum (what was I thinking) electro-groove beat, just hooks me completely. I have to hold myself back from dancing to it, which is a rarity in any track.
I’m sure I’ll get fed up with it in a matter of days. Until then, replay replay replay.
I like to think that I have an eye discerning eye for art. That’s why this image caught my eye (I snagged it from OneManBandwith, a pretty good name for a blog).
I think the starkness of it — black and white, divided both by jagged patterns and bleeding, almost ethereal impressions.
Heck, it’s almost inspiring me to be artistically creative myself. Not on a Friday night, but perhaps tomorrow.
