There’s a distinct crowd-control meme floating around the Bay area. At the very same time that Tampa decides to reopen Ybor’s Seventh Avenue drag to car traffic on weekends, across the bridge St. Petersburg is considering a weekend blocking off of cars on Second Avenue at BayWalk as a solution for accomodating businesses and protesters.
Which town has the right idea? I made my feelings known yesterday: I very much prefer an open pedestrian walking area. More power to St. Pete.
I neglected to mention it yesterday, when it appeared, but I couldn’t let this quality headline for an article about the Buccaneers’ overheated training camp environment go by unnoticed:
SHELTER FROM THE SWELTER?
Top-notch.
