A while back, Rachel* at SohoTampa hinted that she would hit the long-awaited opening of Lotus Ultra Lounge in Ybor City. I never heard how it was, or if she even had gone and checked the place out.

Upscale-urban with a twist of South Beach, although I don’t know how denim fits in to that mix. It sounds good enough to at least check out, but I’m keeping my expectations fairly low (a lot of “upscale” clubs make a go of it in Ybor, only to quickly backslide when the volume doesn’t materialize).

Maybe I’ll go there tonight, as an alternative to the usual Amphitheater. Nothing wrong with Amphitheater, but you need some variety.
