I’m a big fan of new phraseology that grows out of a pun. So this dropping of the term “window hopping” caught my eye: Busily managing multiple open screen windows (Microsoft or Mac, or even Linux) at once. Common state of affairs for us computer-bound desk jockeys.

The derivation, of course: The retail-teasing pasttime known as window shopping. The irony is that anyone absorbed in screen-gazing window hopping probably doesn’t have any time to go out to the sidewalk and browse the old-fashioned store windowfronts…
