Much was made of Barack and Michelle’s on-stage fist-bump that signified the clinching of Obama’s Democratic nomination for President.

The “punch it in” move came to mind right away. It’s been around for a while; my earliest memory of its demonstration in the media is from a scene in 1989’s Heathers.

I’d like to think that the Obamas had another, more recognizable pop-culture inspiration in mind: The superpower-activating Wonder Twins.

Let’s hope they unleashed cooler superpowers, hopefully effective against the challenges of the Electoral College.
