Limbo is among the murkiest of concepts in theological thought. So murky — and problematic when it comes to unenlightened souls — that the Catholic Church, seemingly with support from the Pope, is considering doing away with it.

I guess I don’t have to make any jokes about the notion of an earthly religion changing the rules about its afterlife.

But I will make a joke about Roman Catholics consequently being denied the joys of seeing how low they can go. Seeing as how many people make drunken fools of themselves when trying to maneuver the pole, maybe it’s for the best that strict Catholics pretend both the realm and the dance don’t exist.
