Normally, “Friday” and “the 13th” are a dangerous combination.
Or at least purportedly so. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had anything unfortunate happen to me on this day/date combo. Still, that’s no reason to let your guard down.
But already, I’ve had two rather good things happen to kick off what’s supposed to be a dreaded day:
- I logged in to my work email to find only two — two! — spams awaiting me from overnight. That’s insane. Even with all the filtering our IT department puts in, I usually am greeted each morning with no less than 10 junk messages (and, typically, more than that).
Maybe the big one-three on the calendar has something to do with it. We already knew criminals were a superstitious, cowardly lot; I guess the former attribute can be applied to spammers, too (maybe the “criminal” part as well).
- To my pleasant surprise, this site is today’s Feedster’s Feed of the Day! I was informed of this by an email from Beverly Parenti, Director of Marketing for Feedster; ironically, I thought it was a scam-spam email before I confirmed the news. Bring on the visitors!
And yes, I am most amused to be getting this honor on the unluckiest of days.
So based on the early going, it’s shaping up to be a pretty good Friday, that “13th” part be damned. I sure could use it.

Feedster??? I swam up river to see what this “feedster” was all about and low and behold, there you were in bright flashing neon lights, ala las vegas. All right maybe it wasn’t that spectacular. Happy 13th, don’t let the fame go to your head.
